Bower & Wilkins Emphasis speakers designed by Morten Warren.
This unique speaker achieves the perfect balance of aesthetic appeal to eye and ear. Beautifully designed and yet still a statement of serious audio intent, this speaker delivers superb power handling, low frequency response.

The design was one of the earliest works by Morten Villiers Warren who now continues to work with B&W and others through Native Design.

The shell was originally manufactured in France using a closed mould rotational moulding technique. This proved unsuccessful because the wall thickness was not consistent, and the material used was too flexible which allowed the speakers to creep over time and lean over, only a small number of pairs were made this way.

It was then given to the company that manufactures the Nautilus speakers who redesigned the shell. The speaker was now being manufactured using RTM (Resin Transfer Moulding) with a removeable inner core which guaranteed the wall thickness. Combined with a different material choice this eliminated the sagging or leaning.

Production ran from December 1993 to May 1999 and only 185 pairs were made of which the first 6 units were prototypes to establish that the new manufacturing technique was successful.

They featured on the cover of The Art of Noise "Below the Waste" album.
